Weekend Schedule
Here is the plan for the weekend. Friday and Sunday are yours to fish. Saturday is the Boot Camp, and it runs on a schedule, so plan to arrive on time and ready to learn. The Saturday session below is the outline. We are finalizing the full lineup of presentations and will post it here as it locks in.
Registration and packet pickup happen at Rosland Campground Thursday evening and Friday, and at the La Pine community center all day Saturday. You will get your shirt and packet wherever you check in first.
Friday, June 26 — Arrive & Explore
7am – 5pm
Fish on your ownExplore the La Pine area waters at your own pace. Scout new runs, dial in your drift, or just soak in the scenery. Fish solo or link up with others as you settle in.
5pm – 7pm
Check in at Rosland CampgroundRoll in, set up camp, and get comfortable. Introduce yourself to fellow attendees as folks arrive throughout the day.
7pm
Group campfire + door-prize drawingThe heart of Friday night, at our fire-season-approved group fire. Swap stories, talk gear and technique, and get to know the crew you will spend the weekend with.
Saturday, June 27 — Learn & Connect
8am
RegistrationCheck in at the La Pine Parks & Recreation community center and grab your packet if you have not already.
9am – 12pm
Tenkara Boot CampHosted by Luong Tam of Tanuki Tenkara. Presentations covering tenkara technique, fly selection, line management, reading water, and more. Something here for everyone, brand new or seasoned.
12pm – 1pm
LunchPizza and drinks provided on-site. Take a break, refuel, and connect with fellow anglers.

1:15pm – 3pm
PresentationsMore from the Boot Camp with open Q&A. Dig deeper into the topics that caught your interest and hear from experienced tenkara anglers.
3pm – 5pm
Hands-on learningWork directly on technique and gear with help on hand.
5pm – 5:30pm
Door-prize & main raffle drawingsBefore we head out, one more door-prize drawing plus the main raffle for the big prizes. You will want to stick around for this one.
Evening
Back to Rosland for the group campfireClose out the day around the fire-season-approved group fire. Reflect on what clicked and enjoy the company under the Central Oregon sky.
Sunday, June 28 — Apply & Fish
8am – 9am
Final door-prize drawingOne last chance at the prize table before we wrap things up.
9am – 11am
Learning StationsRotate through hands-on stations covering different aspects of tenkara, from fly tying to knot work to casting refinement. Take what you have learned and make it yours.
By noon
Check out of the campgroundEveryone needs to be checked out of Rosland by noon. Want to stay Sunday night on your own? Talk to the camp host and pay them separately for the extra night.

The Saturday Boot Camp lineup is still being finalized and will be posted here as it locks in. Please arrive on time for sessions so we can make the most of the day. Friday and Sunday fishing is at your own pace.
